Yesterday was a very proud day for everyone at Metail as we welcomed Lord Ian Livingston, UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment and Parveen Thornhill, Regional Director for London UK Trade and Investment to our HQ offices in London. As ever, our in house photographer was on hand to capture their first meeting with Metail.
It was a great opportunity for Metail Co-founder and CEO Tom Adeyoola to demonstrate Metail’s latest innovations and technological advancements as well as to discuss the issues surrounding small businesses in the UK.
The overarching topic of conversation was on trading and the shift of focus amongst businesses. Today, there is a greater focus on the growing overseas market for small UK businesses; it can no longer just be about the opportunities in Britain. Metail are well placed to take advantage of this trend, having recently opened up a third regional office in Singapore headed up by Kelvin Au. Discussions were not just about the Metail business but also issues surrounding all businesses today. Fundraising, work visas for employees (how can businesses employ the best in their industry with the current restrictions in place?) and rent are all contributing to difficulties facing industry today. Lord Livingston’s knowledge and insight into these topics was invaluable, having previously worked the other side of the fence as CEO of BT Group and as Group Finance Director at Dixons Group PLC.
We were thrilled to have Lord Livingston come to Metail HQ and thank him for taking the time to come in and see us.
