We are looking for an adaptable and curious Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. Using your experience of machine learning and statistical modelling techniques you'll help us derive meaningful information from complex datasets.
You'll be working with our Big Data technology stack and developing analyses to understand user behaviour. As part of our Data Science team, you'll develop modelling pipelines to use raw clickstream data for machine learning applications. You'll apply state-of-the-art Deep Learning techniques to our vast garment image library. There will be opportunities to explore a variety of modelling techniques, and to contribute and learn from the rest of the Data team through code reviews, project discussions and guild presentations.
Lead the exploration of consumer data to create actionable insights for us and our customers
Use the latest deep learning and computer vision techniques to develop data products that deliver customer and end-user value
Develop new algorithms to for product recommendation based on Metail’s unique dataset
Communicate how data products fit into our vision and strategy through reports and visualisations.
Help to maintain our end-to-end ETL solutions
Guide and educate colleagues on the application of data-led approaches, advantages and limitations of various techniques, including peer review of code and analysis
You have at least 1 year previous experience in a commercial Data Science role and a postgraduate degree in a scientific field involving quantitative research.
You are confident programming in at least one statistical or data-oriented languages like R, Python and Matlab.
You'll need to either know, or be keen to learn, general programming in Python.
You can demonstrate experience with exploratory data analysis, including all of the following: working with raw/unclean data: detecting anomalies, and combining data from multiple sources.
You can tell us how you've used statistical modelling or simulations to understand complicated processes.
You can show evidence of your ability to learn new statistical/modelling techniques and/or programming languages and gain mastery through self-guided learning.
You love sharing complex analyses (including data visualisation) with peers and non-technical colleagues in ways that are interesting and understandable.
You've worked in a software product company
You thrive in an informal small company environment
You're familiar with the latest Deep Learning techniques and deployments (Mask RCNNs, TensorFlow)
You've delivered data products using AWS / cloud architecture and technology
You have previous experience with e-commerce click stream data analysis and commercial business analytics
